Good Morning!

7am routine consists of:

WASH: This stuff is amazing. I’ve been using it for a few months now and have nothing but great things to say. I can’t say the same for some of the other products I tried from the line. After 3 weeks they went straight into the trash with ZERO hesitation. Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser

IMG_2847

SPARY: After patting my face dry I spray my FAVORITE facial mist EVER. Queen of Hungary Mist.
IMG_2845

EYE CREAM: Next is just your basic eye cream. Nothing too special here. I’m still looking for that I Cream that I’m gonna fall in love with. Benefiance WinkleResist24
IMG_2848

VITAMIN C: Moving on to Vitamin C serum. Been using this since it launched and it’s pretty nice. I’ve def seen a difference in my skin since using it. There are so many Vitamin C serums out there now, I only chose this one cause I love Sunday. I give this about 2-3 mins to absorb. C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum
IMG_2846

MOISTURIZE: This product is very new to me. I literally bought it yesterday. I read the reviews before buying it, which were great. But what sold me was the texture. It felt like a whipped oil that left no residue what so ever. It seems great for combination (normal to oily) skin. Lala Retro Whipped Cream

What is the point of the face mist? Do you just like the feeling or it provides extra moisture? Also, where does toner come into play? Do you only use it at night?

    1. anyut says:

Hi Zara, so once my face is dry after washing it, I prefer to apply my serums or moisturizer on damp or moist skin not dry. That’s where the mist comes in. I use the toner at night after washing my face, I dry my face, and then apply the toner on the cotton pad and wipe my face. The toner has witch hazel in it that controls oil and tightens pores, balances the pH of my skin and regulates oil production. So they serve different purposes.

Thank you. Also, I’m looking for a good primer that doesn’t enhance the size of my pores. The smashbox and makeupforever are to drying and the Becca is to illuminating.

Also, the is Clinical brand is what Shani Darden recommends along with the cleansing complex, serum, her retinol serum and the Dr. Dennis Gross alpha beta daily peel.

At the moment I am on Retin-A gel so my skin has periods where it gets really dry and peels, because of that it’s also a little sensitive. But when it regulates itself out I am combo skin, oily t-zone and dry chin + cheeks

      2. Nani says:

Well I am currently on Retin-A so it makes my skin so dry that it sometimes peels but, when it does regulate itself out I have an oily t-zone and dry cheeks + chin. I would just want a serum to hydrate without making me oily in my t-zone. I’ll get the lala whipped a try, maybe since we are heading into summer it could work for me.

I forgot to put this in my haul… You guys know I like to use a cleanser after I wash my make up off with FAB. So I figured since I love Sunday Riley so much it would only be right if I put all my other cleansers to rest and use this. So far I am LOVING IT!

Hi love, so I purchased the Sunday Riley Goos Genes cause you raved about it so much, and I’ve been using it for a couple days now and it’s breaking me out :/ it makes my skin dry and I have tiny breakouts throughout my face, but it has brightened my face a lot. Is that a normal sign that will eventually go away as my face gets used to the product? Or is my skin too sensitive for the 40% of lactic acid it contains? I really wanted to fall in love with it

Hi Annie! That’s too bad. I guess your skin isn’t taking it well. I’m not sure about your skin “getting used to it”. Maybe you should stop using it. But better yet, since I’m not dermatologist, you should consult with someone who is and see what they think. It def does dry the skin out. Maybe try using it every other day. Also did you try any other new skin care product at the same time? Are you sure it’s good genes that’s breaking you out?

I kinda want to buy these but I am not sure. I saw that Sephora has a “Power couple Duo” bundle. Would you recommend it for 24 years old skin? Or is it more of an age-preventing treatment?

    December 8, 2016 @ 9:29 AM Reply
    1. anyut says:

      Hi Gabrielle,

So the Tidal is def something you can use at the age of 24, because it mainly provides hydration and has no active ingredient. Luna has retinol and Good Genes has lactic acid. Lactic acid is used in a lot of skin care products because it helps prevent acne breakouts and reduces the “appearance of fine lines and wrinkles”, it also works as an exfoliant, so I don’t see an issue with you using it. As for Luna Oil, it has retinoid in it which is a less hard form of retinol, but I don’t think I am in the position to say if you are too young to use it or not. Maybe you should consult a esthetician or a derm. Hope that helps sorry I couldn’t be more useful.

Skin Care Obsessed

Hey Guys,

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days now. I am about 3 weeks away from giving birth and am soooo busy with getting everything ready for the new baby. I left everything to the last minute. Literally everything! Up until yesterday I hadn’t ordered a car seat, stroller, or any furniture the only items I have been buying over the past few weeks have been clothes. Anyway let’s jump to the topic on hand. SKIN CARE.

For the past few months I have been more into skin care than cosmetics. I know…when I came to realize this it shocked me too. Make-up has always been more important to me than skin care lol, but as I get older I understand that taking care of my skin is way more important than anything else. Since my skin care obsession began I have used many different lines such as Sunday Riley, Tata Harper, Murad, and Dr. Lancer. Over the months I began to see what product from which line works best for my skin. Whereas before I used to think that I should stick to one skin care line and use everything that line has to offer, which I now think is absolutely wrong! Here are some of the products that I LOVE:

LOVE this Lancer face polish. I’m on my 4th one. I use this product every night after washing off my make-up, but before using a final facial cleanser (pm only):
image
LOVE this Murad Clarifying Toner. I use this product after I’m done washing my face, and have dried it. I use the Shiseido Facial Cottons, to apply it every morning and every night.
image
This is another staple product for me, Sunday Riley Good Genes. I use this right after toning my skin in the mornings before moisturizing:
image
Next product I can’t live without is the FAB Face Cleanser, which I use to remove all my make-up at night with the Boscia Konjac Sponge.
image
One other item I am LOVING and am on my second jar of Ā is the Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream, which I use as a night cream. I have really seen a difference in my skin since using this product:
image
As I have mentioned before I have 3 steps when I wash my face at night. First I remove my make up with FAB facial cleanser, then I scrub using Lancer’s Polish Method and the last step is a deep cleanser. For the longest time I was using Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser which I LOVED and still love, but one day I got tired of it and decided to switch it up. I was at Nordstrom and I came across the Kiehl’s Rare Deep Pore Daily Cleanser. I have not been able to put this product down since purchasing it. It is my last step at night when washing my face.
image
Last but not least I LOVE Lancer’s Volume Enhancing Lip Serum which I use every night and every morning:
image

The products I mentioned above are ones that I keep re-purhacing over and over again and refuse to give up because I truly see them work and see a difference in my skin. I am still on the search for the perfect eye cream and daily moisturizer. I recently finished an entire bottle of Tata Harper Reparative Moisturizer, and I REALLY Ā liked it, but I wasn’t in LOVE.
image
I have been using Tata’s Hydrating Floral Essence as well butĀ I am not really liking it. Matter of fact the scent is kinda disgusting.
image

Sooooo a few days ago when I finished up my eye cream by Dr. Lancer and my Reparative Moisturize by Tata Harper I decided to search for an eye cream and day time moisturizer from a new line of skin care that I have not yet tried. I went online, did some research and found a line that I was very much interested it. To my surprise Space NK at Bloomies in Sherman Oaks just started carrying the line, so I went over there to see the it in person smell it, touch it and get samples of whatever I was interested in. Everything I wanted at the time was sold out so I had them put me on the list for the next shipment, and 5 days later I was called in to pick up the items I had requested. During those 5 days I used up all the samples I was given and liked the way they made my skin look and feel. Here are my purchases from Omorovicza:
image
Queen of Hungary Mist Smells amazing!
image
Gold Eye Lift (LOVING this so far)
image
Illuminating Moisturizer This is my day time moisturizer.
image
Thermal Cleansing Balm which I used on my dry skin to remove my make-up.
image
Gold Rescue Cream, which I use at night.
image
I also pick up an extra Good Genes cause I was almost out of mine:
image
This is it for now. I am hoping to have good reviews for you guys in a few weeks.

Anyut

ReStocking

I recently ran out of my Good Genes and Tidal moisturizer. Good Genes I have been using for a long time now, but Tidal was a new product for me and I really liked it A LOT, so I decided to get another tub. I use it every night after toning and applying eye cream.

Just wanted to ask seeing as that some of her products mention not to use them if you are pregnant. Good Morning Everyone,

It took me about 3 months, but I finished almost all of my Lancer products. When it was done I went and repurchased the items I really really loved, and then incorporated into my skin care other products I love from Sunday Riley, Colbert M.D, Murad, and Tata Harper. This is what my current skin looks likeĀ (expect for my face wash/exfoliator, I keep those in the shower):
image
After using Lancer for a few months I realized that my all time favorite products from the line were theĀ Polish Method, his Eye Contour Lifting Cream, and theĀ Volume Enhancing Lip Serum.
So I went ahead and restocked on those items, and along with that I purchased the MURAD Clarifying Toner, which I have been using forever and I don’t know why on earth I stopped. I then repurchased the amazing Dr. Colbert Nutrify and Protect Day Lotion, along with Colbert MD Illumino Face Oil. I decided to back to Sunday Riley Good Genes to replace Lancer Retexturizing Treatment Cream: Glycolic Acid 10%. Even though both are great products, I liked the texture of Good Genes more. The Intensive Night Treatment from Lancer was a bit too heavy for my skin, and I didn’t love the texture I don’t think I even ended up finishing that product, it’s still sitting in my cabinet. I was on the hunt for another evening moisturizer, so when I was at Sephora I came across this new Sunday Riley product that seemed to me like it would be a great night treatment/moisturizer. It’s the Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream. This product can be used both day and night, but I choose to use it only as a night cream since I already have day moisturizers. The last 2 products are by Tata Harper, I had heard so many wonderful things about this line so about a little over a month ago I got the Hydrating Floral Essence to spray prior to applying my moisturizer, and from Sephora about 3 weeks ago I got their Reparative Moisturizer, which I SOOO DIDN’T NEED, cause I have my Colbert moisturizers but I SOOO WANTED IT. I have been using it interchangeably with Colbert and LOVING IT.

Here are some close up shots of some of the new products. The rest I’m sure you can find in previous posts.

So, I think it’s safe to say that after experimenting with all these different lines, I have picked a few products that I am very happy with and will be using for a while. If in the mean time I find any product that is life changing (lol) I will keep you guys updated for sure.

The Good Gene’s ingredients were way too active for my skin. I would feel my skin burning and then stay red. When I would wake up I could put my cold hand on my cheek to calm the burning sensation. Is there another product you would suggest? Also, are you still using the Luna Oil? I feel like it’s total BS. I haven’t seen any change in my skin, but then again my skin has no major problems.

I can see how Good Genes can be too strong. i wonder if you are applying too much, cause this products also works as a peel. You should try the Lancer 10% I posted about. I am not using Luna now, only cause I am pregnant (not allowed) but I still have my bottle I’m waiting to use it after the baby. I didn’t see any drastic change in my skin with it, but I did see a little bit of a change towards the positive.

Sunday…

Good Morning Guys,

Recently I have had a change in my skin care routine and I am really loving it. A few weeks ago I picked up my first Sunday Riley Good Genes, and after that I got the Luna Oil. It’s been a few bottles now, and I can honestly say that I am seeing some positive changes in my skin. I have an amazing glow to my skin, I have seen a remarkable reduction of blemishes, and just an overall change in my skin tone. So because I am really liking my Sunday Riley products and my moisturizer (Perricone MD Nourishing Moisturizer) had finished, I decided that I wanted to pick up something from Sunday. I did my research online and decided to go with the Juno Oil. I also needed to pick up my 3rd bottle of Good Genes. I must say, the Luna Oil lasts much longer than the Good Genes Treatment. I started using both products at the same time, but I have already gone through 3 Good Genes, and only 2 Luna Oils.

image
image

I told the specialist at Space NK that I was looking for a Sunday Riley product/oil that I can use both day and night for moisture, and she gave my exactly what I was headed there for.
image
image
image
The one thing she did tell me was that I should consider using a light formulated moisturizer during the day, and then using the Juno oil to lock it all in. So that is exactly what I did. I had been wanting to pick up the Shiseido IBUKI Refining Moisturizer for a while now. (Sorry I’m in bed blogging I don’t have a photo of the moisturizer and I am too lazy to get up and take one now, I’ll post it later)

Here is how I use my Sunday Products:
image

AM:
Step one, splash some H2O on my face, tone with Murad, apply my Good Genes, wait a min or 2 so my skin absorbs, apply one pump of my Shiseido IBUKI (read up on this product, it’s really wonderful), wait a min or 2 to absorb, and last I will put 1 or 2 drops of my Juno oil (less on my t-zone). JUNO OIL SMELL HORRIBLE LOL. My foundation looks amazing after the Juno oil. It just looks soooo much more natural, and dewy, and moreĀ like skin, rather than a layer of product, but not oily.

PM:
Wash my make up off with FAB, then cleanse with Boscia, tone with Murad, apply 3-4 drops of Luna Oil, wait, apply 3-4 drops of Juno Oil. One of the greatĀ things about Sundays products isĀ that you canĀ cocktail them together. I love the feeling of oil on my face when I am going to sleep. My skin feels so supple and I wake up with the most amazing glow!

Hope that was a helpful post!

Anyut

Sunday Riley Luna Oil

Hey Guys,

A few days ago I went and picked up my second bottle of the Sunday Riley Luna Oil from Sephora:
image
I am almost done with my first one, but I don’t think I am ready for a product review. -_-:
image

–Both the Luna Oil and the Good Genes are products that I feel like I have to use at least 2 full bottles of to really give a review on. I have seen on youtube just recently Claire Marshall did a review of the Luna Oil only 1 or 2 weeks after using and she said something along the lines of “life changing” and how it had gotten ride of discolorations and tightened her pores. But I just don’t know if I can say all that yet. 2 things I do know is one: it smells horrible, and two: it’s definitely not moisturizing, so if you have dry skin you can apply moisturizer after the product has absorbed into your skin. I have really really have high hopes for these products, so I am going to use 2 or 3 more bottles to see if I really do see a change in my skin, and I am hoping I do! Till then, wish me luck! lol
