My g/f Rima is my partner in crime when it comes to buying indecent amounts of beauty products. 3 days ago she calls me up to tell me she pre-sold us both the most of the MAC Mariah Carey Collection.
I normally wouldn’t even go close to the MAC Holiday Collections…but a few days ago a really sweet follower of mine messaged me that Whisper of Guilt was going to be apart of the collection this year. So I made an expcetion and last week I stopped by and pre-sold that 1 item. Pick up was yesterday but I was too busy to go get it. Just picked it up today:
How gorgeous is this color!!! The color on the bottom is shit so I didn’t bother swatching it for you guys.
I don’t know if you guys remember but a while back I had purchased and posted the #135 brush from MAC cosmetics. I had bought the brush because 2 of my favorite Youtubers were raving about it. Anyway, I never really loved it the way they did. BUT recently I did find a brush very similar to the MAC 135 brush but one that I actually love WAY MORE. It is the Chisel Powder brush by Jane Iredale:
Here they are side by side. You can see the shape is identical, but the difference is the density of the bristles, the size, and how much more tightly they are packed in the Jane Iredale Chisel Powder brush. I use this brush to apply bronzer.
I like the Jane Iredale Chisel brush more because I have more control over the application of the product. Whereas with the MAC 135 brush I would not get a precise application, and the product would just go everywhere. If I am doing an everyday look and all I want is some color on my face, kinda all over, I don’t mind using the MAC 135, but if I am spending my time on my make-up (to go out) and I want a perfect and precise application of bronzer then I definitely will go with the Jane Chisel Powder Brush.
I purchased this product about 1 month ago and have been using it everyday in my skin care regimen. Right after I’m done washing my face, I spray this all over my face, then I start applying the rest of my products. So far I am loving it.
Beauty is Life is one of my all time favorite make-up lines. I especially love their lip stick and lip glosses. I stopped by Barney’s the other day and picked up a new liner, lip stick (which when I came home I realized I already had),and restocked on a old favorite lip gloss. Here is the liner. I have not used it yet, but it is a really nice nude.
This is the gloss I restocked up on. A really nice pale pinky nude. The consistency is kind of thick and not sticky, which are my FAVORITE types of glosses.
Truth be told I only got this lip pencil only cause I saw it on Jacklyn Hills youtube channel. I am almost positive I won’t be using it.
The swatch is the one on the bottom, a shade darker and browner than the Beauty is Life.
Okay so after ALLLLLL the concealers I have used in the past few years. I have to admit that NOTHING compares to this baby! MAC Prolonger Concealer NW20.
It never creases, it never becomes caked. It’s just perfect.
So, I got this brush just for aesthetic purposes. I really liked the color, and that Zac Posen was behind it. Plus it wouldn’t hurt to have one more bronzing/contour brush.
I think this is my 6th lip slip. Either I lose them, my daughter takes them, or…I dunno. But I love it! Best lip balm EVER!
I was done with my 2nd Urban Decay Naked Concealer so I decided to pick up my new on in a shade darker than the one I normally use which is light neutral. I didn’t like the look at all. I wanted to stop doing the heavy highlighted look under my eyes, but I realized that using a lighter concealer just looks better. Matter of fact as much I love this concealer I decided I need to go back to MAC Pro Longwear in NW20. I just finished using my second Urban Decay, and I dont know about you guys, but when my skin gets used to a product, it stops looking amazing after a while.
By far one of the BEST!!!! under eye setting powders I have used. It’s no wonder it is always out of stock in the store. I have been using this powder by MAC to set my concealer for the past few weeks. Not only does it give an amazing highlight, it has the most perfect white tint that’s not too white but not dull, the shine is just right, and best of all…it has a velvet finish. I kid you not…I’m obsessed!
