Good Morning Guys,
The foundation from yesterday’s post is: Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid.
Definitely recommend this for dry skin! But even if you have combo skin like I do, once you set it with powder it’s no longer dewy. You guys have no idea how many compliments I got on my make up when I had this foundation on the first day. So many people asked me what I had on my face. It is medium to full coverage, does not look cakey AT ALL, and has a beautiful glow! Honest to GOD the photo I posted yesterday was not touched up one bit with any app, you can tell how the foundation looks like satin on the skin.
Oh and I got a few emails asking what I had on my lips. Here it is: Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Celebrity Skin. LOVE this color!
It’s been a at least 2 weeks since I have been using these new babies…
And I still can’t tell if I like them.
The foundation: medium to full coverage, the colors are kind of off. For example I got shade 33, it looks too light for my skin when I first apply it, and then maybe 3-4 hours later it oxidizes to a completely different shade. This was told to me by 2 Sephora employees at the time of purchase, and boy were they right! The thing I disliked the most was mid day the foundation cracked in different areas of my face. Like my chin, and under my eye, it is definitely not 24 hour wear like it states! I guess the only thing I like about the foundation is the coverage and the packaging.
As for the primer… Smells great, left my skin feeling really smooth as if I had another layer of moisturizer on. This made my foundation look dewy, but it’s supposed to be a matte foundation -_-. I didn’t really feel like it helped my foundation stay on longer or stay in place for that matter, and I think it made me break out!
They look so good together don’t they?
All in all, I’m not really impressed. If by some miracle I have a change of heart, I will keep you guys posted. Until then, this shall remain in the BACK of my foundation drawer.
I decided to pair up the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer with Elcie foundation, and the combination was amazing!
Here is why I did it. Elcie is a matte foundation, which I love, especially because my t-zone is oily. But I don’t love having the look of dry cheeks, so I went ahead and applied the Too Faced Hangover primer only to my cheeks. The primer is infused with coconut water giving the skin radiance. This gave my cheeks the perfect hydrated look, and my t-zone remained matte. I know, I know, GENIUS!
You guys have no idea how excited I was when I found out about this foundation a month ago. I literally visited or called a Sephora store every day to find out when it was going to launch. I am talking about the new Too Faced Born This Way foundation that hit the stores about a week ago.
(don’t ask about my nail polish color. It’s ugly. I know. I don’t know what I was thinking. SO NOT ME)
I picked mine up on Wednesday at the Sephora in Sherman Oaks. They didn’t even have them on display yet, and no testers were made. I read the shades on the website, guessed which color I thought I would be, and asked the beauty consultant to bring me the color Sand from the back. I was dead right! I know this cause, ONE: Sand looks great on my skin tone and TWO: 4 days later I went to the Americana Sephora who finally had all the testers out, tried all the colors and Sand ended up being the right color. Anyway. I used the foundation all weekend in San Diego and even a few days prior to going. And I’m sad to announce that I don’t love it. I really really wanted to love it but I just don’t.
Here is what I think: It feels heavy on my skin, like I’m caked, it’s dewy (I prefer matte), it has medium coverage (it’s build-able, but as you build you feel cakey). I kinda feel like if I’m going to use a foundation that feels this heavy, then it better give me ULTIMATE coverage, kind of like the Becca foundation that I love, or Estee Lauder Double Wear. Oh ya…It didn’t make my skin break out or give me any blemishes, and it was not long-wear (which is a real bummer for me). Let me know if you guys have used this product and feel any different.
SO you all know how obsessed I am with my Cover FX Drops foundation right?! I told my girlfriend to get it but at the time she was using the Dior Nude Air foundation. She ended up getting the Cover FX and told me recently that she has been mixing them together and loving it result. I decided to give it a try and I really like the combination. I dont love the foudnation on its own as much as Cover FX, but the cocktail is amazing! I picked up my Dior Nude Air from Nordstrom.
