Product Review

Good Morning Guys!

If you have been following my blog you know that in the past I have tried the famous Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, that everyone loves so much, but it never really worked for me. Just about a month ago Giorgio Armani launched a new foundation that I am in love with! The Power Fabric Longwear High Cover Foundation with an SPF 25.

IMG_1128
I’m stoked to finally like one of his foundations lol. I use color 6.5 but I feel like it’s a bit too light, so I warm in up with bronzer cause 7 and 7.5 have a pink undertone. I love that it’s full coverage, and longwear. The 2 most important things I look for in a foundation. The finish is matte which I like, but what I love about the finish of this specific foundations finish is that it’s not a dry looking matte like Double Wear by Estee Lauder and Urban Decays All Nighter foundation. This one has a velvet matte finish which doesn’t make you look flat and dry. It’s a bit pricey at $64 but definitely a great product.

Drumroll, Please…

Hi Guys,

The foundation from yesterday’s post is:  Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid.
imageDefinitely recommend this for dry skin! But even if you have combo skin like I do, once you set it with powder it’s no longer dewy. You guys have no idea how many compliments I got on my make up when I had this foundation on the first day. So many people asked me what I had on my face. It is medium to full coverage, does not look cakey AT ALL, and has a beautiful glow! Honest to GOD the photo I posted yesterday was not touched up one bit with any app, you can tell how the foundation looks like satin on the skin.
image
Oh and I got a few emails asking what I had on my lips. Here it is: Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Celebrity Skin. LOVE this color!

Hi Maddie, I am not a huge primer user lol but I will tell you the ones I have used and like. I really like the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (I used to use oil free), and the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. These I actually liked, it’s just for some reason I don’t really see a huge difference in my make when when I use primers. Oh and for my oily T-zone I have used MUFE step 1 for oily skin. I liked that as well.

reMARCable

It’s been a at least 2 weeks since I have been using these new babies…
image
And I still can’t tell if I like them.
image
The foundation: medium to full coverage, the colors are kind of off. For example I got shade 33, it looks too light for my skin when I first apply it, and then maybe 3-4 hours later it oxidizes to a completely different shade. This was told to me by 2 Sephora employees at the time of purchase, and boy were they right! The thing I disliked the most was mid day the foundation cracked in different areas of my face. Like my chin, and under my eye, it is definitely not 24 hour wear like it states! I guess the only thing I like about the foundation is the coverage and the packaging.
image
As for the primer… Smells great, left my skin feeling really smooth as if I had another layer of moisturizer on. This made my foundation look dewy, but it’s supposed to be a matte foundation -_-. I didn’t really feel like it helped my foundation stay on longer or stay in place for that matter, and I think it made me break out!
image
They look so good together don’t they?
image
All in all, I’m not really impressed. If by some miracle I have a change of heart, I will keep you guys posted. Until then, this shall remain in the BACK of my foundation drawer.

Anyut

I broke out from the primer as well. Definitely not good for oily skin, in my opinion. As for the foundation, the girl at Sephora tried matching me with about 8 different shades and none worked. For that price, I am not paying for two bottles to mix a foundation to match me. I was so disappointed by these two items because I really wanted to like them.

I’d really love to try it .. What’s the best way to wear it? With brush or beauty blender? Do you have to mix it with something?

    1. anyut says:

you should! My favorite way to apply is with the Sigma Angled Kabuki F-84 brush. I use my finger to dab some of the foundation on my face and then spread it around with the brush.

    1. anyut says:

Sure love. So my favorite way is to shake the bottle first. Apply a few drops on the back of my hand, and then using my index finger I dab some of the foundation on my face. I then take the Sigma Angled Kabuki F-84 brush and spread the foundation. First I spread it and then I dab to really get that airbrush effect.

I’m sorry for asking so many questions but I really trust your recommendations.. I read in an earlier post that you liked using it with the too faced primer? Do you apply them separately or mix them together on the back of your hand ? And did you try any other primers or moisturizers or even foundations with it and liked? My skin is similar to you from what you mentioned in earlier posts normal with few oily areas ..

    August 20, 2015 @ 12:35 PM Reply
    1. anyut says:

I like the too faced primer with the Elcie foundation cause Elcie is very matte. I have not really been using a primer with cover fx. Although some people tell me that cover fx is dries out the skin, I don’t feel that at all. If anything my t-zone is oily. So once in a while I will use the new Make-up forever matte primer on my zone then do my cover fx droplet foundation. –Never mix your primer and foundation together. After you moisturize, wait a min or 2, then apply primer, and then a min or 2 later apply foundation.

  4. Zara says:

I bought this today (and saw you but didn’t say hi :/) but the girl at Sephora advised me to mix with a primer or moisturizer. That’s how she applied it to my skin. I have to test it out myself both ways. So you just apply alone? Must try.

    August 20, 2015 @ 10:46 PM Reply
    1. anyut says:

Hi Zara. Lol yes I was at Sephora again lol. I have been told by some girls at sephora to mix it with moisturizer because it can dry out your skin cause it’s pure pigment but I don’t do that. Maybe in the winter I might mix it with moisturizer but for now I don’t. I apply moisturizer first then apply a very thin layer of the foundation. Hope you love it as much as I do.

Yesterday…

I decided to pair up the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer with Elcie foundation, and the combination was amazing!
image
Here is why I did it. Elcie is a matte foundation, which I love, especially because my t-zone is oily. But I don’t love having the look of dry cheeks, so I went ahead and applied the Too Faced Hangover primer only to my cheeks. The primer is infused with coconut water giving the skin radiance. This gave my cheeks the perfect hydrated look, and my t-zone remained matte. I know, I know, GENIUS!

Hi anyut I just placed an order for this foundation in the shade sand I chose it according to some girls on YouTube and Instagram comparing shades to Mac/mufe/Bobbi brown .. But I got a bit surprised that you’re using the shade sand as well..
I know you’re so much lighter than me I’m an nc40/153 mufe hd/ 5 Bobbi brown.. The shade sand looks amazing on you and I know you get spray tanned but you’re still much lighter than me and I’m worried the shade won’t suit me ..
I’m just too excited to receive this foundation and I really don’t want to order another shade and wait longer
Would you be able to compare this foundation to other brands’ shades? I honestly trust only your reviews

Born This Way

You guys have no idea how excited I was when I found out about this foundation a month ago. I literally visited or called a Sephora store every day to find out when it was going to launch. I am talking about the new Too Faced Born This Way foundation that hit the stores about a week ago.
image
(don’t ask about my nail polish color. It’s ugly. I know. I don’t know what I was thinking. SO NOT ME)
image
I picked mine up on Wednesday at the Sephora in Sherman Oaks. They didn’t even have them on display yet, and no testers were made. I read the shades on the website, guessed which color I thought I would be, and asked the beauty consultant to bring me the color Sand from the back. I was dead right! I know this cause,   ONE: Sand looks great on my skin tone and TWO: 4 days later I went to the Americana Sephora who finally had all the testers out, tried all the colors and Sand ended up being the right color. Anyway. I used the foundation all weekend in San Diego and even a few days prior to going. And I’m sad to announce that I don’t love it. I really really wanted to love it but I just don’t.

Here is what I think: It feels heavy on my skin, like I’m caked, it’s dewy (I prefer matte), it has medium coverage (it’s build-able, but as you build you feel cakey). I kinda feel like if I’m going to use a foundation that feels this heavy, then it better give me ULTIMATE coverage, kind of like the Becca foundation that I love, or Estee Lauder Double Wear. Oh ya…It didn’t make my skin break out or give me any blemishes, and it was not long-wear (which is a real bummer for me). Let me know if you guys have used this product and feel any different.

XoXo,
Anyut
