So I know it’s been about a year now that lash extensions have been trending…but I didn’t join the bandwagon until recently. I have seen my girlfriends get their lashes done by so many people in the industry but none of them had really blown me away. If anything I would see them with no lashes every few weeks and it would weird me out. Until a about a month ago a friend of mine who is pretty picky about who she sees told me about a girl named Christen who does lashes. My friend told me she had gone to so many different people for lashes, including Star Lash Extensions (the chick Kylie Jenner goes to), and she was not impressed by anyones work until she met Christen. She told me none of their work lasted for more than 10 days and she would lose her own lashes in the process.
Anyway long story short I decided to pay Christen a visit. The only 2 concerns I had were that my own lashes would not fall off, and that the extensions would look natural. I HATE the spider leg looking long, super dark, triple layer, volume lashes I have been seeing.
I called Christen but was not able to get an appointment until 2-3 weeks from the day that I called. The first day I went, she took 2 hours, she was so sweet, told me how to take care of them, and saw me out. I was amazed at the price $75 for a full set of lashes, $40 for a fill every 2 weeks. After my first visit I left thinking I might have wanted them a bit fuller, but Christen told me this is her technique, and that at my second visit is when they will be perfectly full. You see, unlike most lashes extensions, after 2 week, you hardly lose any of the lashes she put in. So when you go back, she gives you a 1 hour appointment and adds about a 100 more lashes. But does not stack them on top of one another.
In this photo it had been about 7 days since she did my lashes:
The lashes she uses are not Siberian Mink, or velour, or anything crazy hair like that. They look super natural and have an amazing curl to them. Lets just say 5 of my friends who do the expensive mink lashes told me they were obsessed with my lashes and couldn’t wait for their own extensions to fall off so they can go see Christen.
My favorite part about having them is not having to put mascara on and still looking great! At nights when I go out, I do put on a single layer of mascara on the tips if I want a bit more drama. I remove them with a little bottle Christen gave me that is part baby shampoo part water.
