Detox

Came home late from a night out, and slept with my make-up on -_-. GUILTY AS CHARGED. So a cleansing masque was a must. This Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores is a really great one. I have been using it for about 4 years now (not the same one lmao) obviously.

Me Time.

Both kids down by 7:30pm. I now get to enjoy my alone time. Today I finally decided to use this really cool mask I recently bought from Sephora, Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask. You apply a thick layer onto clean skin, and as you massage it for 1-2 mins the mask starts heating up and turns into a white cream. Leave it on for 15 mins and wash it off.

How old are your kids and how are they asleep so soon? That is every mothers dream! My kids don’t sleep till 9pm. What’s your trick?

lol my kids are 6 years old and 6 months old. I have them both on a very very tight schedule, always have. My 6 years old is in bed by 7:15 down by 7:45 the latest and by 6 month old is sleep trained so she’s down by 7pm. Makes my life so much easier and keeps them calm. There is no magic here lol just a super tight schedule.

She sleeps from 7-6:30am wakes up once to feed around 1-2. Yes I feed her at that waking. I plan on cutting that feeding but I’m not sure when. Maybe by 9 months if she’s still waking up by then.

I wanted to ask what your plan is for working since you have two young children, since you recently finished nursing school? Do you plan on working full time at a hospital doing 12 hr shifts sometime soon, or waiting until your little one is older?

Hi Elle, to be honest I’m not sure yet. I’m considering all my options. I may possibly continue my education. I don’t want to work right now. But once I come to a final decision I’ll share it with you all for sure!

Hi Anyut, I know you have a 6 month old baby and by now an expert on what works best both for mommies and babies. You had mentioned before that you had a scheduled c-section. I was just wondering what word of advice you would have for proper healing. Are there any specific products that you used to help you heal after the procedure, whether it is creams, special belts, underwear or even diet? Also, this is my first pregnancy and I would love for some advice on what to pack in my hospital bag? And some of the necessities you would recommend for first time mommies, things that made your life with a newborn much easier and better. I know these are some real personal questions, feel free to ignore whichever ones make you uncomfortable. I would really appreciate any advice/suggestions you can give me. Thanks again for a great blog ❤

Hi Suzy, first of all congratulations on your pregnancy. So to answer your first question I honestly did not use any creams for my C-setion. I wore the belt the hospital provided which was very comfortable and I made sure to walk every single day (a few times a day) after my surgery. This will definitely help you heal faster, and prevent any complications that can happen after surgery. -As for a diet, I got on a diet the second I gave birth lol. The first day at the hospital I ordered a Kale salad. I eat very healthy 90% of the time, correction–I don’t like to call it a diet it is more of a lifestyle. -As for a hospital bag…I packed 3 pajamas, ones that button down the front (all black lol makes you look skinnier), slippers, disposable underwear they have a pad built in (you can get them from Wallgreens, or CVS) I also took my make-up, skin care, and of course everything I needed for the baby (everything for the baby is either beige or white my girls have never worn the color pink and they never have giant bows or flowers on their heads).
–The best thing I can recommend for a first time mom to make your life easier is to get a nanny, NO JOKE. It makes your life so much easier. Other than that I can tell you off the top of my head that I love Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow glass bottles (the new ones with the wide nipple), both my kids were given Enfamil Infant Formula (never gave powder always the liquid form) along with breastmilk, the Stokke Xplory is my favorite Stroller along with the car seat, the Stokke Sleepi is the best play pen to have in the living room (it’s on wheels). The most important thing for me EVER is keeping both my kids on a very tight schedule. I am a bit extreme but it works amazing for both me and my kids. I am a firm believer in sleep training! I hired a night nurse to sleep train my second baby when she was almost 4 months and it is the best thing I have ever done! –I am a strong believer that children under the age of 1 need to be kept in the comfort of their own home, they do not belong in malls, they shouldn’t sleep in car seats, or strollers. This is my motto, I do not think it is for everyone. I hope that helps. If you have any other questions or want details on anything I mentioned I will be more than happy to elaborate. Again congrats! Being a mother is definitely a full-time job (yes a job) but it is the most rewarding job in the whole world.

Thanks for a prompt response love, I am blessed to be having twins so the challenge is twice as exciting for me ☺️. I too am a firm believer in proper scheduling and sleep training for babies (A reliable nanny is at the top of my list ) I love the stokke stroller you suggested, however they do not make it for twin babies so I ordered the bugaboo twin stroller (hoping it lives up to its reviews) Thanks for the disposable underwear tip, that’s brilliant!! Like you my color choices are white, beige and grey. The simpler I keep things the better! Thanks again for your valued input, I really do appreciate it.

Since we are on the topic of babies LOL (see you should definitely blog a lot more about mom life, you have a very interested audience haha) But I was wondering what your opinion is about vaccinations? Have you vaccinated both your girls? Aside from the whole link to autism which I understand does not have clear evidence, it’s so heartbreaking to see all the unnecessary ingredients that go into these vaccines!! Mercury and aluminum just to name a few. But I love hearing opinions from other moms on this topic although it is a personal one. I respect everyone’s decisions. Thanks!

P.S totally with you on the sleep training thing.

    Hi Anyut,

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did a night nurse run ? I live in NY so I’m sure the prices differ a bit so maybe a ballpark. I don’t have a babies yet but one of the biggest fears is that lack of sleep issue that may come.

BTW.. totally agree with you on the bow thing!

Much Needed!

This morning I decided to apply the FAB Instant Oatmeal Mask for a quick 5 mins prior to applying my make up. This cold weather is making my skin dry and kinda irritated.

Masque Time

I picked up this masque from my favorite beauty store in Del Mar when I was in San Diego. The owner said I was going to love it. Let’s see.

PAINFUL REVIEW

I decided to use my Boscia Luminizing Black Mask earlier tonight…and it reminded me of why I didn’t like this mask when I first used it a few months back.
image
I think the only reason I bought this mask again was cause the actual product is BLACK. That has got to be the stupidest reason to buy something right?! I remember the first time I used this it hurt so bad when I was peeling it off. Anyway…I applied it on around 8:00pm, it specifically states on the back to not put a thin layer of product on. SO I didn’t… It took almost an hour and a half to dry, it made my eyes tear in the process, and when it finally came time to peel it off…I almost cried from the pain. Once again I had a horrible experience. But I think I’ll keep it and just use it once a week, hopefully it will give positive results.
Good Night Everyone!

    Hi Anush,

This is completely off topic but i noticed you haven’t blogged much about Tom Ford Cosmetics..are you a fan of any of his product? lipstick, bronzer, brushes etc. Thanks!

Hi Emily. Honestly I tend to stay away from make up that clothing lines come up with. Like Tom Ford, Burberry, Dolce or Gucci etc… I mean I’ll get one or two peices just for the sake of getting it, but I won’t really buy their foundations and stuff. Maybe a shadow here and a lipstick there.

Good Morning!

My Sunday mornings start off with a mask! Most of the time on Sundays I like to let my skin breathe so I don’t wear face make up during the day, unless there is an event. This morning I decided to use my Arcona Tea Tee mask, which I am in love with!

Fresh Black Tea

Hey Guys,

I never used to use masques this often…but after using a few and seeing results, I am offically addicted to them!
Here is yet another fantastic masque!

IMG_0520

IMG_0521

I use this mask once a week, it is not for cleansing, it does far more for the skin. The antioxidants help defend against wrinkle causing radicals, it softens, hydrates, and smoothes the skin as well as supporting natural collegen. When you initially apply the mask you will feel a cooling affect, which kind of energizes the skin. It does’t dry and crack like other masks, so after 10 minutes just wash it off. I like to use a warm towel and wipe if off, then apply my nightime skin care.

XOXO,
Anyut

Hello Gorgeous!

Hey Guys,

The minute I walked into Sephora(Americana on Brand) I was greeted by a very interested looking product. I’m a sucker for anything in nice packaging, and so this product caught my eye immediately. After reading about it doing some quick online research and asking questions to every other employee I decided to get it. This amazing mask is called GLAMGLOW.

Here is my feedback…

The instant I applied the product on my skin, it began to tingle. What was interesting was the vacuum effect it had on my pores. Wherever I have pores, which is mainly on my nose, I saw the mask making tiny holes. It pulls the dirt and oils from the pores. Not only is it a cleansing mask, but it is also a treatment. You can use it on your entire face or as a spot treatment. So far I have used it 3 times and I seriously do see a difference. I don’t know if I like it as much as my Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque, but time will tell.

XOXO,
Anyuta
