Me Time.

Both kids down by 7:30pm. I now get to enjoy my alone time. Today I finally decided to use this really cool mask I recently bought from Sephora, Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask. You apply a thick layer onto clean skin, and as you massage it for 1-2 mins the mask starts heating up and turns into a white cream. Leave it on for 15 mins and wash it off.

lol my kids are 6 years old and 6 months old. I have them both on a very very tight schedule, always have. My 6 years old is in bed by 7:15 down by 7:45 the latest and by 6 month old is sleep trained so she’s down by 7pm. Makes my life so much easier and keeps them calm. There is no magic here lol just a super tight schedule.

Does your little one sleep through the night? And do you give milk if she wakes up during the night?

She sleeps from 7-6:30am wakes up once to feed around 1-2. Yes I feed her at that waking. I plan on cutting that feeding but I’m not sure when. Maybe by 9 months if she’s still waking up by then.

I wanted to ask what your plan is for working since you have two young children, since you recently finished nursing school? Do you plan on working full time at a hospital doing 12 hr shifts sometime soon, or waiting until your little one is older?

Hi Elle, to be honest I’m not sure yet. I’m considering all my options. I may possibly continue my education. I don’t want to work right now. But once I come to a final decision I’ll share it with you all for sure!

Hi Anyut, I know you have a 6 month old baby and by now an expert on what works best both for mommies and babies. You had mentioned before that you had a scheduled c-section. I was just wondering what word of advice you would have for proper healing. Are there any specific products that you used to help you heal after the procedure, whether it is creams, special belts, underwear or even diet? Also, this is my first pregnancy and I would love for some advice on what to pack in my hospital bag? And some of the necessities you would recommend for first time mommies, things that made your life with a newborn much easier and better. I know these are some real personal questions, feel free to ignore whichever ones make you uncomfortable. I would really appreciate any advice/suggestions you can give me. Thanks again for a great blog ❤

Hi Suzy, first of all congratulations on your pregnancy. So to answer your first question I honestly did not use any creams for my C-setion. I wore the belt the hospital provided which was very comfortable and I made sure to walk every single day (a few times a day) after my surgery. This will definitely help you heal faster, and prevent any complications that can happen after surgery. -As for a diet, I got on a diet the second I gave birth lol. The first day at the hospital I ordered a Kale salad. I eat very healthy 90% of the time, correction–I don’t like to call it a diet it is more of a lifestyle. -As for a hospital bag…I packed 3 pajamas, ones that button down the front (all black lol makes you look skinnier), slippers, disposable underwear they have a pad built in (you can get them from Wallgreens, or CVS) I also took my make-up, skin care, and of course everything I needed for the baby (everything for the baby is either beige or white my girls have never worn the color pink and they never have giant bows or flowers on their heads).
–The best thing I can recommend for a first time mom to make your life easier is to get a nanny, NO JOKE. It makes your life so much easier. Other than that I can tell you off the top of my head that I love Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow glass bottles (the new ones with the wide nipple), both my kids were given Enfamil Infant Formula (never gave powder always the liquid form) along with breastmilk, the Stokke Xplory is my favorite Stroller along with the car seat, the Stokke Sleepi is the best play pen to have in the living room (it’s on wheels). The most important thing for me EVER is keeping both my kids on a very tight schedule. I am a bit extreme but it works amazing for both me and my kids. I am a firm believer in sleep training! I hired a night nurse to sleep train my second baby when she was almost 4 months and it is the best thing I have ever done! –I am a strong believer that children under the age of 1 need to be kept in the comfort of their own home, they do not belong in malls, they shouldn’t sleep in car seats, or strollers. This is my motto, I do not think it is for everyone. I hope that helps. If you have any other questions or want details on anything I mentioned I will be more than happy to elaborate. Again congrats! Being a mother is definitely a full-time job (yes a job) but it is the most rewarding job in the whole world.

Thanks for a prompt response love, I am blessed to be having twins so the challenge is twice as exciting for me ☺️. I too am a firm believer in proper scheduling and sleep training for babies (A reliable nanny is at the top of my list ) I love the stokke stroller you suggested, however they do not make it for twin babies so I ordered the bugaboo twin stroller (hoping it lives up to its reviews) Thanks for the disposable underwear tip, that’s brilliant!! Like you my color choices are white, beige and grey. The simpler I keep things the better! Thanks again for your valued input, I really do appreciate it.

P.S. if you can somehow send me your source for the night nanny, or even a daytime one that you would recommend I would really appreciate it.

P.S.S. I am right there with you with the giant bows/flowers #respectthebaby

Hi, can you please provide the contact information of the night nurse you used for sleep training? I have a 4 month old who wakes up every 2 hours in the evening and does not nap during the day.

Since we are on the topic of babies LOL (see you should definitely blog a lot more about mom life, you have a very interested audience haha) But I was wondering what your opinion is about vaccinations? Have you vaccinated both your girls? Aside from the whole link to autism which I understand does not have clear evidence, it’s so heartbreaking to see all the unnecessary ingredients that go into these vaccines!! Mercury and aluminum just to name a few. But I love hearing opinions from other moms on this topic although it is a personal one. I respect everyone’s decisions. Thanks!

P.S totally with you on the sleep training thing.

    Hi Anyut,

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did a night nurse run ? I live in NY so I’m sure the prices differ a bit so maybe a ballpark. I don’t have a babies yet but one of the biggest fears is that lack of sleep issue that may come.

BTW.. totally agree with you on the bow thing!
