Sorry I made you all wait so long for the skin care post. I have enjoying my few days off. I start my last term next week, and I can only imagine how hectic it will be. Anyway, here we go:
I’d like to start off by saying that unlike both my sisters, some of friends, and other beautiful girls that I know, I do not have “perfect” skin. I have always had to make sure I use the right products because my skin is definitely blemish prone and has discolorations. I can go days with clear skin and feel amazing, but then I’ll suddenly feel a nasty blemish or 2 coming on -_-. HATE IT!
A few weeks ago my skin started going out of control, like never before!!! It took me a minute to realize that this was due to the fact that my IUD “the mirena” which I have had for the past 5 years was expiring, and the hormonal changes were causing my skin to go ape shit. After removing the IUD last month, I decided to look into serious skin care. Up until now I have been using different products from different lines, which had been working for me, but I wanted to invest in ONE line and stick to it. So after much research here is what I decided to go with:
I had heard so much about Dr. Lancer skin care, especially from the ladies at Nordstrom every time I would go to pick up my Murad toner or Arcona scrub. So after days and days of research about the line I decided to give it a shot. It has been over 2 weeks that I have been using it and I have definitely been seeing a difference in my skin.
Here is a breakdown of what I purchased:
The polish: It’s basically a scrub. In the Lancer Skin Care method you have to scrub your face every single day prior to cleansing it. I know it sounds crazy but when you think about it, it makes sense. His theory is that in order for the cleanser to really clean yours skin, you must first remove the dead skin. I only Polish at night.
The Cleanser: So since I use this after my polish, it’s obviously not meant to take my make-up off. If you guys remember I used my FAB cleanser for the longest time to remove my make up and then I followed it with the Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser to cleanse. I stopped using these even though I loved them. Now I use the Boscia Cleansing Oil, I apply it to my dry face with my dry hands, then I take a wet facial cloth, wipe off all the make-up and move onto the polish. After the polish I will cleanse (by the way I dont use my hands for the cleanser, I use the Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge). I use the cleanse every night after polishing but in the mornings I don’t polish. I just cleanse.
Eye Contour Lifting Cream: I use the eye cream every single day and night. This is both tightening and moisturizing. Which is exactly what I was looking for in an eye cream.
Advanced C Radiance Cream, Vitamin C Collagen Cofactor 10x: I use this Vitamin C cream every morning. So I will cleanse, apply eye cream, apply the Vitamin C cream, then my Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion.
Retexturing Treatment Cream Glycol Acid 10x: I use this amazing treatment at nights only. This product is good for uneven skin tone, power resurfacing. It can be used twice a day, but I choose to only use it at night, after washing my face and applying my eye cream. I still use my Luna Oil from Sunday after the Retexturing Tx, but I might switch over to the Lancer night moisturizer.
Volume Enhancing Lip Serum: Love this stuff! I use it day and night. But I don’t carry it around with me. I leave it at home and use it in the am and pm.
I did not get the day time moisturizer by Lancer. I went and got a sample of it, and after using it for 2 days and 2 nights I realized that it’s making my skin oily. I tried both the one for blemish prone and the combination skin. So I am style using my Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion. Oh and I forgot to mention, since the Lancer Method doesn’t include a toner, I have temporarily stopped using my Murad Clarifying Toner, which I love, just to see the full effect of only using Lancer.
That’s all my loves!
