I walked into Sephora at the Sherman Oaks mall yesterday and saw 2 Farsali oils on display. The Unicorn Essence  and the Rose Gold Elixir. I had read about these oils and seen them a few times online but for some reason I didn’t get them. So the minute I saw them at the store I grabbed them both, without even knowing the purpose they served. Honestly the name of the products, the packaging, and colors sold me instantly. Yes, I’m that customer. lol.
IMG_1493Oh and did I mention they smell great too.
IMG_1514(I’m continuing this post 2 days after starting it) It’s day 3 since I have purchased them, and every day I realize more and more how pointless this purchase was. I already have a skincare regime that I follow and these just don’t seem to fit in.
IMG_1511But…There is NO WAY I’m taking them back because they just look so great on my vanity.
IMG_1513So they will remain as eye candy. Or I guess I can mix them in with my foundation for a glow but just on my cheeks so I don’t get too oily.

You are a definitely a beauty junkie. I love it. You could use the unicorn one as a primer (a lot of people use as lipstick or eyeshadow primer). Use the farsali for your body or hands besides mixing it in your foundation.

Came home late from a night out, and slept with my make-up on -_-. GUILTY AS CHARGED. So a cleansing masque was a must. This Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores is a really great one. I have been using it for about 4 years now (not the same one lmao) obviously.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Ceramic Slip

I forgot to put this in my haul… You guys know I like to use a cleanser after I wash my make up off with FAB. So I figured since I love Sunday Riley so much it would only be right if I put all my other cleansers to rest and use this. So far I am LOVING IT!

Hi love, so I purchased the Sunday Riley Goos Genes cause you raved about it so much, and I’ve been using it for a couple days now and it’s breaking me out :/ it makes my skin dry and I have tiny breakouts throughout my face, but it has brightened my face a lot. Is that a normal sign that will eventually go away as my face gets used to the product? Or is my skin too sensitive for the 40% of lactic acid it contains? I really wanted to fall in love with it

Hi Annie! That’s too bad. I guess your skin isn’t taking it well. I’m not sure about your skin “getting used to it”. Maybe you should stop using it. But better yet, since I’m not dermatologist, you should consult with someone who is and see what they think. It def does dry the skin out. Maybe try using it every other day. Also did you try any other new skin care product at the same time? Are you sure it’s good genes that’s breaking you out?

Me Time.

Both kids down by 7:30pm. I now get to enjoy my alone time. Today I finally decided to use this really cool mask I recently bought from Sephora, Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask. You apply a thick layer onto clean skin, and as you massage it for 1-2 mins the mask starts heating up and turns into a white cream. Leave it on for 15 mins and wash it off.

Hi Anyut, I know you have a 6 month old baby and by now an expert on what works best both for mommies and babies. You had mentioned before that you had a scheduled c-section. I was just wondering what word of advice you would have for proper healing. Are there any specific products that you used to help you heal after the procedure, whether it is creams, special belts, underwear or even diet? Also, this is my first pregnancy and I would love for some advice on what to pack in my hospital bag? And some of the necessities you would recommend for first time mommies, things that made your life with a newborn much easier and better. I know these are some real personal questions, feel free to ignore whichever ones make you uncomfortable. I would really appreciate any advice/suggestions you can give me. Thanks again for a great blog ❤

    January 31, 2017 @ 7:10 PM Reply
    1. anyut says:

Hi Suzy, first of all congratulations on your pregnancy. So to answer your first question I honestly did not use any creams for my C-setion. I wore the belt the hospital provided which was very comfortable and I made sure to walk every single day (a few times a day) after my surgery. This will definitely help you heal faster, and prevent any complications that can happen after surgery. -As for a diet, I got on a diet the second I gave birth lol. The first day at the hospital I ordered a Kale salad. I eat very healthy 90% of the time, correction–I don’t like to call it a diet it is more of a lifestyle. -As for a hospital bag…I packed 3 pajamas, ones that button down the front (all black lol makes you look skinnier), slippers, disposable underwear they have a pad built in (you can get them from Wallgreens, or CVS) I also took my make-up, skin care, and of course everything I needed for the baby (everything for the baby is either beige or white my girls have never worn the color pink and they never have giant bows or flowers on their heads).
–The best thing I can recommend for a first time mom to make your life easier is to get a nanny, NO JOKE. It makes your life so much easier. Other than that I can tell you off the top of my head that I love Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow glass bottles (the new ones with the wide nipple), both my kids were given Enfamil Infant Formula (never gave powder always the liquid form) along with breastmilk, the Stokke Xplory is my favorite Stroller along with the car seat, the Stokke Sleepi is the best play pen to have in the living room (it’s on wheels). The most important thing for me EVER is keeping both my kids on a very tight schedule. I am a bit extreme but it works amazing for both me and my kids. I am a firm believer in sleep training! I hired a night nurse to sleep train my second baby when she was almost 4 months and it is the best thing I have ever done! –I am a strong believer that children under the age of 1 need to be kept in the comfort of their own home, they do not belong in malls, they shouldn’t sleep in car seats, or strollers. This is my motto, I do not think it is for everyone. I hope that helps. If you have any other questions or want details on anything I mentioned I will be more than happy to elaborate. Again congrats! Being a mother is definitely a full-time job (yes a job) but it is the most rewarding job in the whole world.

Thanks for a prompt response love, I am blessed to be having twins so the challenge is twice as exciting for me ☺️. I too am a firm believer in proper scheduling and sleep training for babies (A reliable nanny is at the top of my list ) I love the stokke stroller you suggested, however they do not make it for twin babies so I ordered the bugaboo twin stroller (hoping it lives up to its reviews) Thanks for the disposable underwear tip, that’s brilliant!! Like you my color choices are white, beige and grey. The simpler I keep things the better! Thanks again for your valued input, I really do appreciate it.

Have you vaccinated both your girls? Aside from the whole link to autism which I understand does not have clear evidence, it’s so heartbreaking to see all the unnecessary ingredients that go into these vaccines!! Mercury and aluminum just to name a few. But I love hearing opinions from other moms on this topic although it is a personal one. I respect everyone’s decisions. Thanks!

Orlane Vs. Omorovicza

The battle of the anti-aging serums has begun. At the age of 32, I’m all over them like white on rice. In the past I have tired out some anti-aging serums but I was never really dedicated to using them until I discovered Omorovicza skin care and purchased their Gold Flash Firming Serum.
After using it a few time (half the bottle to be exact) I began to realize I didn’t like the feeling it would give to my skin after application, this tightening effect to be exact. And I also wasn’t feeling the difference in my skin. I’m not expecting to see a difference in my skin until about 2 bottles in, but I do expect to feel a difference when Ive been using a product for about a month. So I went back into Neimans and told the girl at the Omorovicza counter how I felt about the serum and that’s when she introduced me to this baby: Orlane B21 Extraordinaire Serum
I will not bore you guys with too much detail, but in a nutshell they both include anti-aging properties. The way this B21 youth serum feels right after the application is amazing! I can almost feel it working as I apply, it is so soothing and smells soooooo nice. Honestly I have not touched my Omorovicza Serum since B21 has entered my life.  If you’re looking for a day/night serum you HAVE to try this out! For those of you wondering, I just apply it in the mornings after washing and toning. Then I follow up with my Balancing Moisturizer.

Lancer Vs. Omorovicza

Hey Guys,

I wanted to share my thoughts on the 2 face scrubs I have in my shower at the moment. If you guys have been following my blog you know I LOVE the Polish Method by Lancer but I never say no to trying new products. So when I was first introduced to Omorovicza I had to try out their facial polish.  About a week into using the Omorovicza scrub I realized that I wasn’t fond of it at all. The beads are soooooo refined that I didn’t feel any scrubbing effect. It felt more like a facewash, whereas Lancer feels AMAZING and you can feel the microbeads really working. What I also didn’t like about the Omorovicza polish was the feeling it left on my skin immediately after using it. It feels like there is product residue on my face right after using it. In a nutshell I much rather prefer Lancers Polish Method.

Hi Anoush. I enjoy reading your blog and I often utilize the product related advise you give! I’ve searched for a good face polish for a while myself, and I finally came across a really good one that polishes and mattifies my skin without drying. The product is by Fresh, and it is called, Umbrian Clay Mattifying Face Exfoliant. It is for normal to oily skin. I haven’t been able to find it at Sephora but you might since you visit so many different ones. I get mine from Neiman Marcus. Please review it if you get to try it. Enjoy your day.

    December 8, 2016 @ 9:29 AM Reply
    1. anyut says:

      Hi Gabrielle,

So the Tidal is def something you can use at the age of 24, because it mainly provides hydration and has no active ingredient. Luna has retinol and Good Genes has lactic acid. Lactic acid is used in a lot of skin care products because it helps prevent acne breakouts and reduces the “appearance of fine lines and wrinkles”, it also works as an exfoliant, so I don’t see an issue with you using it. As for Luna Oil, it has retinoid in it which is a less hard form of retinol, but I don’t think I am in the position to say if you are too young to use it or not. Maybe you should consult a esthetician or a derm. Hope that helps sorry I couldn’t be more useful.

Product Review

For years I have been using the same 2 face washes, FAB Face Cleanser to remove my make-up followed by Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser to cleanse my skin. And even though I would never substitute FAB Face Cleanser for anything else, I do often substitute my Boscia cleanser (second step) with other products just to test things out. Thus far I have loved subbing it with Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Facial Cleanser and Kate Somerville Daily Detox. Anyway…a few weeks back I decided to try out a new facewash that had just hit the market ExfoliKate Cleanser:
After using it for a good few weeks I was ready for a review.
It is by far the worst face wash I have ever used! On the back it says it removes make-up, so one day I only had loose powder on my face and decided to skip using FAB and just use this stupid shit instead. I use it, get out of the shower, wipe my face using my Shiseido Facial Cotton and Murad Clarifying Toner, look at the cotton and see MAKE-UP on it! I was like -are you serious?- It didn’t even remove loose powder?! Dumbest shit ever!
