back to black…

Hey Everyone,

So I didn’t really blog much during my break because I was busy enjoying it, but as of today my new term started so during study breaks I will post.

2 weeks ago I dyed my hair black! I regret it the day I did it but it was already too late. I remained a brunette for only 10 months! and had black hair before that for 10 years!!!

Today I had some time on my hands so I had some fun with liquid eyeliner. Something I do seldom. #nofilter

My Fun Filled Day @ Naimie’s

Hi guys,

I went to Naimie’s Beauty Center yesterday on the hunt for new shampoo and conditioner. Unfortunately I ended up leaving with a lot more than just that. Of course most of what I bought I didn’t need, but since I love trying out new products, I couldn’t stop myself from experimenting. Im like a kid in a candy store when I am here…or any other beauty supply store for that matter.

After leaving the store, I get so antsy, I can’t drive fast enough to get home!!!

Awapuhi by Paul Mitchell. I used to use this shampoo and condition months ago. Today at Naimies I saw that they won Best Of Beauty By Allure. So I decided to get the large bottles this time. If you go back to my posts about hair serum you will see that I also use their Awapuhi Oil Treatment, which also won the same award!

I am familiar with the line Iden because I use there leave-in hair cream. I decided to also buy their new shampoo conditioner to try it out. It is sulfate free and contains Omega 3 fatty acids, and of course smells fabulous! I shall update my reviews after using the products a few times.

Neuma Renew Shampoo. You must always have 1 good cleansing shampoo in you shower! Once a week it is good wash your hair with this shampoo in order to strip your hair of all the product build-up, and clean the oil and residue from your scalp. Only use once a week or once every 2 weeks if you have dry hair because the shampoo is very harsh. Over use of the product will cause it to strip your hair of its natural oils.

After using my Beauty Blender I realized how soon it gets dirty, and even though I know you can wash it, I decided to buy one more.

This was a new product, I.C.O.N India, that was displayed on the shelf that morning, and I fell in love when I smelled it! It is a leave-in remedy consisting of Moringa Oil that strengthens and heals the hair, Argan Oil that restores shine, and depth, the sexy scent of amber, and Aloe Leaves that repairs damage and gives moisture. You apply it to damp hair and comb through

I also bought the Oil from this line. Its called I.C.O.N INDIA Oil. It smoothes frizz enriching the hair with Indian oils, anti-agers, and vitamins. The senses of Amber heal the hair and makes the hair smell amazing! Use a tiny drop on dry hair and brush through.

I am not a fan of false lashes, I wear them for evening big parties only! I tried wearing them a few times for casual evening dinners but realized that they ruin your own lashes and change your natural look too much! I bought these to try them out. My sister, who is a pro at false lashes told me the half lashes I bought were not good ones, and that I should have bought demi wispies instead of wispies because the demies are longer at the tip giving the eye a longer extended affect. The half lashes are #315.

black 15in1 is very similar to the itsa10 detangler leave-in that I use, except this is more of a treatment. Apply it on damp hair comb through then style or blow-dry as usual. I bought the tiny 1oz size just to try it out. It adds shine, detangles, softens and smoothes, works instantly, adds volume, smoothes dry scalp, protects against UV light, strengthens hair, and a lot more! I will update with a post after using it.

Apparently Naimies launched the Hey, Sailor! collection by MAC sooner than Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. Earlier during the week I had posted the items I had pre-sold from this collection. Since I couldn’t pick it up until today, and the lipstick “Salute” is already sold out online I thought of buying it from Naimies as well. Couldn’t hurt to have 2. I also bought the lip pencil “Saunter” that I had not paid attention to @ Nordies.

Well that was basically it this time around! lol
Hope you guys enjoyed todays post! Feel free to ask me any questions or leave comments. Thank you for taking your time and reading my blog!

XOXO,
Anyut

Back To Basics

Hi guys,

So I have been getting emails asking about primers, and whether or not I use them. I have to be honest, I am not a fan of foundation primers because I don’t really see a difference in my make up when I use one. I have tried so many different ones, and only found 1 that I actually like. That one is Photo Finish Hydrating primer by Smashbox.

The only time I use this primer is when I wear a foundation that dries out my skin. For example Estee Lauder Double Wear is a foundation I have been using for 7 years on and off. It has the most amazing amazing coverage ever and it stays on no matter what. The only problem is it makes me break out and makes my skin a bit dry after application. So I needed a primer that would keep my skin hydrated even after I wore a quick dry foundation. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating primer really works great. This primer seals in moisture leaving you a perfect canvas to apply your foundation on!

My friend Tato is wearing this primer in my “Get the Look” post.

XOXO,
Anyuta

My Weekend Discovery!

Hi everyone…

So over the weekend I stayed at the Thompson Hotel to enjoy some nice rooftop sun and relaxation. When getting ready to go out saturday night I realized I had forgotten to pack my foundation brush. So I ran over to the Beverly Center to buy a new brush and instead walked out with “the beauty blender”!!! I bought my beauty blender from Kristy’s Beauty Supply. I used to be obsessed with this beauty supply store when I worked at the Bev Center.

The Beauty Blender

I had bought this products about 3 years ago, attempted to use it, then got annoyed and threw it away. But as of saturday night, I am in love with it!!!I took it back to the room with me…anxious to use it.

Once you remove it from the box you must moisten it a little. I sprayed it with Evian Facial mist. Then I apply my foundation on the back of my hand and using the blender ball I start applying the foundation. Kind of like bouncing the blender on my face using the dull end. Afterwards I apply my concealer with my finger…and using the pointy edge of the beauty blender I blended it in. I was amazed at how wonderful the foundation and concealer looked!!!!! LOL even my husband realized how great it looked.

Look forward to a video tutorial on how to use the beauty blender. Until then you can find tutorials on youtube.

XOXO,
Anyuta

Mascara Mania!

Hi everyone!!!

Sorry I was MIA for the past 3 days,

There are so many different brands of mascaras on the market today and each brand has so many different types, I can totally see why some women are lost! Working with cosmetics for so many years, and having an issue with product abuse (lol), I was able to try many different brands. Drug store or department store I’ve tried them all! I have a few favorites I would like to share with you all!

First and for most I don’t wear anything until I apply my primer. Lacome CILS BOOSTER XL, I know its an extra step but it works wonders so I don’t mind it. Then I apply my mascara.

Lancome Cils Booster

My all time fav is Lancome Hypnose in Deep Black. Surprisingly some people are allergic to Lancome, this includes all the women in my family.  Their eyes will itch all day. So instead they use Loreal Voluminous in either black or carbon black. Its just as amazing as Lacome and is less than half the price! I also use Lancome Hypnose Drama which also is amazing.

Lancome Hypnose

L'Oreal Voluminous
Voluminous Wand
Lancome Hypnose Drama
Hypnose Drama Wand

I like switching back and forth from one favorite product to another. My face and body and hair gets tired of the same product if I use it for too long. The product will lose its UMPH! So every few days I like to switch out.

XOXO,
Anyut

Do the DEW!

Hi everyone,

My sisters are always making fun of the extra steps I take when applying my make up! They mock me for spritzing my face with facial mists before and after makeup application.

Its very important to apply facial or body moisturizer on damp skin. When skin is damp it obsorbs the creams better leaving you with hydrated skin. I also think its very important to set your make up with a mist when you are done applying.

For example, sometimes you put make up on and you look dry or caky and your skin doesn’t look fresh and glowing. Or when its cold outside and your skin is dry and you apply makeup and you look like your make up is going to crack. Well this is what these elixirs help prevent. Even on days when I don’t wear make up I will carry around Caudalie’s elixir to freshen my face every few hours.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir tones the skin, tighten the pores, gives the skin radiance and boosts microcirculation.
Evian Facial Mist
is a quick pic-me-up, refreshing and hydrating your skin and giving you a glow.
Urban Decays DEW ME
sets your make up, giving you a fresh moisturized look, and also helps hold your make up in place!

XOXO,
Anyuta
