Sorry I have been a bit MIA. I am adjusting to caring for a newborn lol. It’s been 6 years since I have done this, I totally forgot how the sleepless nights felt -_-. Anyway I took a minute today to take photos of the items that arrived in the mail last week.
I actually was not very fond of the Precision Powder Brush, it looks and feels way to much like the Dose of Colors Setting Powder Brush, which I already have. Plus I don’t like to use such a small flat brush to set my under eyes. My ideal under eye setting brush is the Charlotte Tilbury Powder and Sculpt Brush, or the Kat Von D Shade+Light Contour Brush, both are softer, fluffier, not too dense, and don’t pack on too much powder. I prefer to use my Dose of Colors Setting Brush for highlighting.
Next up is the Setting Powder Brush, which again I didn’t love because I don’t like a pointy tipped powder brush to set my entire face with. I prefer them round or completely flat. The bristles feel wonderful but the shape is not one that I like.
I was so excited about these brushes but it seems like I might have to return both. -_-. It is VERY seldom that I return products I buy, because I will tell myself any lie to keep a product that I DON’T need. But when I really don’t like something, or realize that I seriously won’t make any use out of it, it has to go back or I will give it to my sisters.
I tried this Lock-It Concealer Creme and on a scale of 1-10 I give it a 7. It is rich and creamy in texture like it says, and full coverage but…it creases, it is not 24-hour wear like it says it is, and the tones are a bit too yellow for me. I like a little bit of peachy pink in my concealers.
Another item that I was super excited about trying that I again didn’t LOVE, (this whole order was kinda of a fail lol) is the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer.
Smells wonderful, is moisturizing, radiant, and is a much better color than Kat Von D’s, but…it’s NOT crease free like it says. I don’t think either one of these concealers compare to MAC Pro-Longwear.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Lock-It Setting Powder.
It is like SILK, and has this amazing Satin glow to it when applied. I have been setting my under eyes with it and I think it’s sooooo much better than the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder that everyone raves about.
That’s if for todays post, I took 10 breaks to put the pacifier in my daughters mouth while writing this lol.
It has been 17 days since I had my C-Section and I am down 25lbs. I was 158lbs the day that I went in for my surgery, and now I am 133lbs. I have not been working out at all, I might have walked 1 or 2 days for 30 mins since I have been home. Healthy eating is what it’s all about, and hopefully working out soon! My goal weight is 118lbs so I still have about 14 more lbs to lose. #dedication.
I found this on Pinterest and loved it!
I too am currently “under construction” lol. Since giving birth 10 days ago I am already down 20 lbs. I have 18 more to go, and I’m thinking I need about 20 more days :). No strenuous exercising just light walking and very healthy eating. Can’t wait to start exercising though!
I purchased this Phytopiage Sublime After Sun Hair & Body Oil (that’s a hell of a name) online based on the reviews, and the purpose it serves. Now that I have lightened my hair a little I need to take care of it a bit more than I did when I had black hair. This means, not tying it up too messy in order to prevent breakage, and not going out into the sun without protection so that I don’t dry it up. So basically I was looking for a product that would hydrate my hair after sun exposure, and keep it from becoming crispy :).
I put a small amount in my hair after I have spent a few hours out in the sun. On days that I am going to wash my hair or go get a blow dry I will put an abundant amount in my hair leave it in for an hour or 2 then wash it. The product is multi-purpose so you can also use it for your body. I have yet to do that because it doesn’t really have a scent so I prefer to just use it on my hair. I like to put oils on my body that actually smell nice. Anyone who has light hair really needs to understand the importance of keeping their hair hydrated.
I am sure you all have seen this palette everywhere on Instagram, YouTube, and in stores. I picked mine up from Naimies a few weeks ago without even looking at the colors. I later realized I didn’t really love the colors, or the fact that the shadows are really dusty.
I think all in all I have used 3 colors, 1 of which I already have as an individual shadow (burnt orange).
I had some great stuff arrive in them mail yesterday but I will post them once I am done reviewing all the new stuff I got in the past month.
