I am ready to review the hakuho-do + Sephora Pro Brush Collection. Here are the 3 brushes I purchased about 2 weeks ago and have used them almost every day since in order to review them:
This one is the large teardrop pointed powder brush. I didn’t like the hair of the brushes at all. If you guys have used Hakuh0-du Brushes before, you will see the huge difference. The bristles felt synthetic and didn’t disperse my product evenly, whether it was bronzer I was applying or powder. I didn’t like the application at all.
So this one is the wedge sloping powder brush. I loved how it was wedged at the tip to really press in my powder, but I didn’t like how long and loose the bristles were, especially for loose powder application. As you guys have read in the past my 2 favorite brushes for loose powder application which I have been using for years are the Laura Mercier Face Brush, and the Bdellium Tools Studio 993. These brushes have short bristles which don’t allow too much movement. Making it more dense and giving me better coverage with loose powder. I also didn’t like the texture of the hair as I mentioned before. So even though the tip was slanted, which I liked, I didn’t get to press in my powder cause of how much the hairs moved.
Did you guys notice that my photos have a little more lighting to it?! After 1 year and 5 months of remodeling I have FINALLY moved back into my house!!! We had been living out of our pool house all this time -__-. Anyway I am hoping for better lighting and brighter photos from here on forward lol.
Moving on to the next brush… which is the small teardrop pointed highlighter brush. Once again didn’t like it. I bought this brush for the purpose of setting my under eye concealer or for highlight application. The bristles were not soft enough and once again felt synthetic. I have a few brushes with this shape, one specifically cost me 9 dollars by Stilazzi #S133, which I LOVE. The bristles move better an are much softer, giving my a more airbrush application.
All-in-all I am very disappointed in this collaboration. Till next time. 🙂
